Analytics
- Collecting anonymised data about people’s interactions with our website (in the aggregate) is very useful to improving a website.
- We do this using tools like GA4, Kajabi and Hubspot. That’s more than we need but this is mostly so we can test different tools out in the market for our clients.
- These tools collect information about what actions you take on the website as well as details about your browser, IP address, network etc.
- This data is anonymised meaning we (Bookable Tourism) can’t find out who you are unless you identify yourself by filling out a form with your details.
- The data providers themselves are in a different position. If they put in a lot of work (eg. if they’re subject to a government subpoena), they may be able to match your website activity to your real identity, for example by contacting your ISP.
- Each tool has privacy safeguards against this and we add others (eg. removing any personal data from the info we send them), but these safeguards are not absolute. Advertising
- Ad campaigns that are supplemented by ad trackers on a company’s website are much more effective than ones that are not.
- We use ad trackers from Google, Microsoft, Meta, and LinkedIn.
- These tools collect information about what actions you take on the website and try to tie it to your existing logins at these companies. Meaning that the platforms may find out that you took a particular action on our website.
- Part of this may involve us sending personal information (if you’ve identified yourself by filling out a form) to these ad platforms. This is encrypted in transit meaning only the platforms themselves will have access to it.
- We (Bookable Tourism) cannot use these tools to find out who you are, but we can use an action you took to define a targeted advertising list which may include you.
Website
- This website is built with Kajabi.
- Kajabi collects their own data to facilitate your use of the website (including for security purposes). This is not something we (Bookable Tourism) control.
Forms
- If you fill out a form, some visit data (eg. your browser, which website you visited from, when you first visited and which page you landed on) will be saved with the form.
- We use a range of tools such as Kajabi and Hubspot to process this data.
